Current Issues, Tips, Tricks and Observations

Take a look at some of the more interesting things involving real estate, through the eyes of someone who’s been around the block for over 3 decades. Yes, there is some editorializing. . . . After all these years, I think I’m entitled. Solving the problems of the world, probably not. Getting people to do some independent thinking? Let’s hope so.

Pros and Cons of Mortgage Prepayment

If you are asking yourself whether it is a good thing to make a prepayment on your mortgage, and you don’t know the answer, you are in the enviable position of probably needing some financial or tax advice.  Merely asking the questions and realizing that you might need advice puts you in the minority of most people.

Whether you should pre-pay your mortgage is a VERY good question, but not knowing anything about you, or your finances, I cannot answer.  This video will hopefully give you a little bit of insight as to an answer, and at the very least, will give you some more information as to what other questions you should ask.

Remember, each individual’s situation is different, and similarly situated people may have alternatives that would make sense.  Consult with your financial or tax adviser to help you with your decisions.

Some of my philosophies in representing clients.

I was sworn in as an attorney in 1982, and now in my 4th decade of practice, have spent virtually all of my time as a residential real estate closing attorney.  My italicizing ‘closing’  is intended to be a very sobering description of how I operate, as I take very seriously my clients’ intent to close on their real estate transaction.  Towards that end, I’ll do almost anything in my power, using the experience I’ve amassed over my career, and the skills I continue to hone, to ensure that a closing happens on time.
